A talk and a deer walk – October’s Fingle Lectures

Thurs 6th October – Tree Disease at Fingle Woods
7pm, Fingle Bridge Inn

Regrettably Fingle has now been affected by a number of outbreaks of the disease Phytophthora ramorum which directly affects Japanese larch. David Rickwood, Site Manager, will talk about the impact of this disease at Fingle and the risks in the future.

Sat 8th October 2016 – Fallow Deer at Fingle Woods
4×4 tour – 1pm to 4pm

Join Mick Jones of the National Trust, as we visit several areas of Fingle Woods to look at the favourite locations for the deer and a chance to see the rut. We will also discuss the ecology of the deer and the impact of deer on the woodland.
Tours starts at the Fingle Bridge Inn where we will get into 4x4s to visit the deer rut areas. No Dogs please. BOOKING ESSENTIAL
