A brisk riverside walk, horses pulling timber, old cars climbing hills and a warming new year lunch…….

Early in the new year between Monday 4th and Saturday 9th January John Williamson and his heavy horses Jens and Louis will be extracting timber at Upperton Weir on the River Teign. They will be on site all week and they would love to meet you. They will be happy for you to meet the horses and to explain this timeless craft. Why not bring an apple…

John, Jens and Louis can be found by walking along the riverside track in Fingle Woods between Clifford Bridge (15 mins walk) and Fingle Bridge (30 mins walk).  The day can be rounded off with a warm welcome at the Fingle Bridge Inn, where lunches will be served throughout this week between 12.00 and 15.00 to book lunch call 01647 281287 or visit http://www.finglebridgeinn.co.uk/

On Saturday the 9th January there is the added bonus of the Exeter Trial when a number of old cars and motor bikes will be taking on the hill climb challenges in Fingle Wood as part of an annual event that has been running since 1910.
