The Woodland Trust volunteers were in action on Saturday.
Jim White and Dave Rickwood led the volunteers on a task to build a bridge over a drainage ditch near Upperton Weir in Fingle Woods.
The hefty construction means the bridge will be used by walkers for many years to come, but it has also been designed to accommodate heavy horses as they are due to be extracting timber over the coming months.
There are many uses for a Land Rover including to test the load bearing capacity of the final structure.
The volunteers had just enough time to complete the bridge as the winter light faded.
