A partnership between the Woodland Trust and the National Trust

Remember remember…Drewsteignton bonfire night

The rain had stopped and the sky was clear for an explosive night of fireworks and festivities at Drewsteignton Playing Fields on Saturday. A huge bonfire warmed the crowds of close to 400 people. With hedgehogs in mind, the wood pile for the bonfire was started on the Friday with local contributions and piled up high on Saturday with a donation of brash from the Woodland Trust, from nearby Fingle Woods.

The evening kicked off with a torchlight procession as it got dark. With hot drinks and food being the served the community spirit was buzzing and the anticipation for the fireworks was building! Local photographer Paul Moody was there to capture the sights and sounds of Saturday night – including the Battle of Waterloo!
