A partnership between the Woodland Trust and the National Trust

Fingle Fun Ride 2015

The Fingle Fun Ride is a great way of showcasing some of the fabulous routes around the Teign Valley for riders. This year the event raised £754 which is to be split between Fingle Woods (The Woodland Trust and The National Trust) and the Mid Devon Pony Club. The event is organised by Lucy and Jason Bruckner of Animal Crackers, they are pictured below handing over a cheque to David Rickwood of the Woodland Trust, outside their shop in Moretonhampstead.

79 riders of all ages enjoyed perfect weather for this year’s ride, which was held on Sunday 20th September. Riders were invited to go at their own pace around the beautiful 9 mile route with an optional extra 4 miles for those wanting a longer ride. The route included tracks in Fingle Woods, past the Iron Age hillfort of Wooston Castle and following the path of the River Teign and an opportunity to take in spectacular views across the open moorland at Mardon Down.

Thank you to all those who helped organise the ride this year.
