Nocturnal? Not me!

An adult dormouse was busily building a nest in one of the new nest boxes at Fingle Woods today. The boxes were only put up a week and a half ago and two are already occupied. The photos are a bit fuzzy but they show one complete nest and one under construction. Note the green leaves being used – this is typical of dormice as they prefer to collect materials from the tree canopy rather than from the ground.
