The National Trust hosted an inter-school cross country run at Castle Drogo on Tuesday morning. Between the wintry showers, teams of primary school runners from all around the Dartmoor area took part in the one and a half mile race. OCRA organised the running and, after the races had finished, the children joined the Woodland Trust to create some woodland art from sticks, bark, leaves and cones. A range of colours and textures helped the imaginative children to make natural art pictures of a witch, an elephant and Drogo the Dragon. Schools from as far afield as Milton Abbot, Whitchurch, Boasley Cross, South Tawton and Okehampton created some great work and the children enjoyed the activities, returning to school a bit muddy and very happy.
