Drogo 10 – race

Last Sunday saw 499 runners brave the wet weather to complete in the Drogo 10 race organised by the South West Road Runners. Thankfully the rain had stopped by the time the race started which involved running along a 9.6 mile route in the beautiful but challenging terrain from Castle Drogo into Fingle Woods and back. There were flatter areas as people ran alongside the river, but there were several substantial hills to run up too. The fastest person completed this in an impressive 57 minutes. Members of staff from the Fingle Woods project joined in too and took part in this challenge and here is a picture of Heather Kay from the National Trust and Dave Rickwood from the Woodland Trust  at the end of the race wearing their finishers t shirts.

Well done to Heather  and Dave and everyone who took part and everyone who helped make this another successful day.
